Summer Camp 2025

Happy Company Candle Making is a hands-on experience for all ages and skill levels. Campers will create their own 8 oz candle, choosing from a variety of jars, custom scents, and adding glitter and color. They'll also learn the science behind candle making. For those opting for the wax melts and mold experience, campers will make their own wax melts and candle molds, exploring the science behind it all.

This program is an introduction to the hip hop dance style. Students learn isolations, body control, strength, flexibility, combinations, rhythm, and muscle memory. Set to fun, age-appropriate music, this vibrant class is a great way to help your child learn dance and get wonderful exercise. Hip Hop is all about personal style and expression and encourages students to let go, be themselves, and dance! No previous experience is necessary and it is great for anyone passionate about moving.

Join us for an exciting adventure in Minecraft, where creativity and exploration come to life! Using Minecraft Education Edition, a game-based learning platform that fosters creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving, students will bridge the real world and the digital one by building with blocks in an engaging and intuitive environment.
 
Students will begin with mini-challenges to sharpen their Minecraft skills before diving into collaborative projects. From designing landmarks to creating zoos and ski resorts, their imagination will be the only limit as they work together in multiplayer worlds.

Embark on an exciting Minecraft coding adventure! Students will explore coding concepts such as algorithms, sequencing, loops, conditionals, and debugging while tackling challenges and collecting samples on a journey from the Arctic to Mercury’s cratered surface.
 
Next, they’ll dive into Minecraft’s Escape Estate, solving puzzles and using computational thinking to unlock secrets, open trap doors, and uncover hidden clues. Can you code your way out by dawn to claim a million emeralds? This immersive experience is designed to spark creativity, problem-solving, and a love for coding!

Introduce your child to the exciting world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) in this engaging and hands-on class!
 
Students will begin their journey with digital storytelling, where they’ll create storyboards, design 3D backgrounds, animate characters, add background music and sound effects, and record their own narrative to bring their stories to life.
 
Next, they’ll meet Botley, the Coding Robot! Botley makes coding fun and approachable, teaching foundational concepts like if/then logic, looping commands, and obstacle navigation. Students will program Botley to detect and avoid objects, complete obstacle courses, and even follow black lines.
 
This class sparks curiosity, creativity, and a love for STEAM learning!

Playdough is soft, colorful, and fun to squish through your fingers. Students will have fun making playdough, creating sculptures, and using their imagination. We will use playdough to form letters and numbers while exploring patterns and textures.

In Pop Art!, children experiment with various materials and techniques to create artwork inspired by Pop Art icons like Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, and Wayne Thiebaud. Using paint, oil pastels, and wax, campers will bring their imaginations to life. Each project is tailored to the age and ability of each child, and once completed, they’ll enjoy free time to explore our amazing art room!

From Japanese watercolors and Australian dream paintings to Danish paper art and Indian mandalas, they’ll explore the artistry of diverse cultures. Each project is thoughtfully adapted to their age and skill level, and upon completing their work, students can continue to explore and create in our vibrant art room!

Do you love making anything with beads? Well, this is the class for you. We will create a variety of items using all types of beads. From keychains to picture frames, we will create "bead"-tastic creations.

Bring your favorite pictures and create your own scrapbook. Learn how to "crop" photos and design pages to preserve your memories. Students provide the photos, and we provide the rest. Students will bring home their own scrapbooks at the end of the week. If you do not have any photos, you can create page designs to add photos later.

Beginning in Week 2, St. Nicholas offers swim lessons for campers of all ages and ability. Lessons are two-week sessions that last 30 minutes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Students are grouped by age and ability. Classes affected by the weather are rescheduled whenever possible. Times vary. Classes are scheduled between 9:00-11:00am or 3:30-4:30pm.

This combines both tap and ballet into one fun class. Your child gets the best of both disciplines. Tappers explore the fun, energetic rhythm and foot work required for tap. During the ballet portion we build upon the technique and form required of ballet and other dance forms.
