St. Nicholas recognizes that the elementary school years are a critical time for the development of intellectual curiosity as well as social, emotional, and physical growth. Our program provides a stimulating academic environment through which children grow intellectually, realizing personal creativity and competency. During their years at St. Nicholas, youngsters develop self-confidence in themselves and a respect for the diversity of the world around them.
Our comprehensive curriculum ensures that the St. Nicholas educational program is unparalleled in content and approach. In all areas, St. Nicholas students meet or surpass national standards and benchmarks. Core subjects include language arts, social studies, math, and science taught daily in small classroom settings that encourage investigation, inquiry, and collaboration. Interdisciplinary studies are also central to the course of study. Language arts is coordinated with social studies, and science education is blended with mathematics. Foreign language, music, physical education, and art are woven throughout the curriculum while technology is integrated across all disciplines. Our Early Learning Center offers a nature-based program that is Reggio Emilia-inspired. Our curriculum focuses on hands-on learning and builds problem-solving, collaboration and creative thinking skills

Classes are intimate with a structure that optimizes interactions between teacher and student. Children also work in small groups and enjoy hands-on learning. The curriculum is grounded in the fundamentals of reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies and complemented by instruction in foreign language, art, music, library, physical wellness, and technology.
In the Episcopal tradition, St. Nicholas believes in the importance of spiritual growth and of building a community of individuals who are kind, honest, cooperative, self-reliant, and compassionate.
