Upper Primary is juncture where St. Nicholas students become whole and where the structured focus of individualized learning yields positive and poised youngsters. During these final two years, students are challenged to meet a higher level of responsibility, independence, creativity, and excellence. Students encounter a well-defined curriculum that stretches the imagination, develops the intellect, and prepares them for new challenges. The maximum class size of 17 still provides time for one-on-one interaction between student and teacher. The St. Nicholas Upper Primary teachers are qualified and seasoned educators who have received instruction and training to support their work with pre-adolescents. They are experts relative to working with this age group and are sensitive to the changes these children are experiencing. Attention is given to peer relationships and to preparing the students for the move to traditional middle school.
