Financial Aid Application Procedure
To those interested in applying for financial aid:
St. Nicholas School provides financial aid to families on the basis of documented financial need. The school uses the services of the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as a part of the school’s determination of a family’s level of need.
Please be assured that both the application and allocation process is done with strict regard for confidentiality. Also, the admission process is conducted without consideration of financial need.
If you apply for financial aid, it is critical that you follow the procedures below. All documents must be received by SSS by Friday, February 4, 2011. At this time of year, it can take several weeks for the processed information to return to St. Nicholas.
1. Complete your PFS (Parent’s Financial Statement) online at sss.nais.org/parents and mail your 2009 tax forms with supporting documents including W-2’s, to SSS, to be reveived by Friday, February 4, 2011.

If you are applying through SSS at another school, you may request that the SSS determinations also be sent to St. Nicholas.

| The fee for submitting online is $35. |
| The fee for submitting a paper PFS is $42. |
For each business or farm you own, complete a copy of the form "SSS Business/Farm Statement" online or send the paper copy along with business/farm taxes to SSS.
St. Nicholas School reserves the right to request additional information at any time. Should discrepancies be discovered in the information submitted to St. Nicholas School, the school reserves the right to withdraw financial assistance at any time. St. Nicholas School does not discriminate on the basis of race, national or ethnic origin.
The Financial Aid Committee meets in mid-March to allocate financial aid. You will receive information regarding your application for financial aid during the month of March 2011. Formal contracts cannot be issued until all requested information is received.
